Khan Academy has rolled out a major upgrade to its free learning platform, introducing adaptive learning paths powered by OpenAI's GPT-5 model. The system dynamically adjusts lesson difficulty, pacing, and teaching style based on each student's performance and learning patterns.
Early pilot data from 50,000 students shows a 35 percent improvement in concept mastery compared to the platform's previous linear curriculum. The AI tutor, named Khanmigo 2.0, can now generate personalized practice problems and provide detailed explanations in multiple languages.
The nonprofit plans to make the enhanced platform available in 40 languages by year's end, with a particular focus on reaching underserved communities globally.
