Online learning platform Coursera announced a new partnership with 20 community colleges across 12 states to provide free professional certificate programs to enrolled students. The initiative targets high-demand fields including cybersecurity, data analytics, digital marketing, and healthcare administration.

Under the agreement, students at participating institutions can access Coursera's professional certificate catalog at no additional cost beyond standard tuition. Each certificate program includes between four and seven courses and can be completed in three to six months of part-time study alongside traditional coursework.

Community college leaders say the partnership addresses a critical gap in workforce preparation. Students who complete these certificates graduate with industry-recognized credentials from companies like Google, IBM, and Meta, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
